Why Bulldogges?

We raise Olde English Bulldogges, which is basically a healthier breed of bulldog. Our dogs are fully registered bulldogges that are lovable, playful, and have a knack to find a soft place to sleep. Bulldogs are a breed that will make you laugh, be a faithful companion, and have more personality than you thought possible.

If you've ever seen a bulldog's short legs, stocky build, wrinkly skin, and drastic under-bite, you've probably laughed and thought that it doesn't look natural. (Think Zelda the Bulldog dressed up in a costume). It's because bulldogs aren't a natural breed. Man bred these dogs to be lower, stronger, and stubborn to bait bulls and fight other dogs. With all that changing the breed came health problems that bulldog owners know all too well. For instance, the big heads and small waists make it hard or impossible for many bulldogs to have natural births.

An Olde English Bulldogge is a breed that attempts to get back to what the bulldogge was in the 1600s and 1700s before the changes to the breed. It's a more natural bulldog that can have natural births and have fewer health problems, but keep the same bulldog stubbornness, playfulness, companionship, and wonderful personality.

Hoss, our first dog, was a standard English bulldog who made us fall in love with the bulldog breed, but we had to put her down at the age of 5 because of significant health problems. While we loved bulldogs, we didn't want to have another bad experience. Then we found Olde English Bulldogges, and that's why we are breeding them. We love our bulldogges so much, we decided to breed them so you can fall in love with this breed like we have.

You can read more about the Olde English Bulldogge at the International Olde English Bulldogge Association (IOEBA), which is the organization our bulldogge pups are registered with.
